Don't see your charger?
If your charger supports OCPP 1.6-J or 2.0.1, it will almost certainly work with GuestCharge even without a brand-specific guide. Follow the generic OCPP guide below, or check the full list of supported brands.
Setup questions, answered
What is OCPP?
OCPP (Open Charge Point Protocol) is an open communication standard for EV chargers. Any charger that supports it can connect to a third-party backend such as GuestCharge, instead of being locked into its manufacturer's own billing system.
Do I need an electrician to connect my charger?
No, for almost every brand. Connecting to GuestCharge is a settings-only change made through the charger’s app or web interface, and takes 15 to 30 minutes. Garo is the one exception on our list — its setup is installer-led, with a Garo technician on the line.
My charger brand isn’t listed — will it work?
Probably. If your charger speaks OCPP, the generic OCPP guide will connect it even without a brand-specific guide. Check the supported chargers directory to confirm compatibility, or tell us the make and model and we will check for you.
Does connecting to GuestCharge cost anything?
No. GuestCharge is free to set up with no monthly fees. We charge a 10% platform fee only on guest charging revenue, so there is nothing to pay until guests start charging.
Can I switch my charger back later?
Yes. Nothing is locked in — you can repoint the OCPP server address or reselect your original operator in the charger’s settings at any time to disconnect from GuestCharge.
