Wallbox setup happens in the Wallbox app, in two parts: first get the charger online, then switch on its OCPP connection and point it at GuestCharge. Two things make this go smoothly: a solid Wi-Fi signal at the charger, and standing close to the unit while you work, because the app talks to the charger over Bluetooth.
- The Wallbox app with your Wallbox account login
- Good Wi-Fi signal where the charger is mounted
- The charger's serial number (on the unit or in the app)
- About 20 minutes
Log in to your GuestCharge dashboard and run the onboarding wizard with the charger's serial number. You'll enter the same value in the Wallbox app in a moment.
- Open the Wallbox app and log in
- Select your charger and tap the settings wheel
- Tap Connectivity
- Choose how the charger gets online (Wi-Fi for most people) and follow the prompts
- Once it's connected, reboot the charger: Settings β Advanced Options β Reboot
That reboot matters. Wallbox units like a fresh start after any network change.
In the Wallbox app:
-
Tap settings in the top right corner
-
Tap OCPP connection
-
Switch OCPP on and fill in:
- URL:
wss://ocpp.guestcharge.co
- Charge point identity: the same serial number you entered in the onboarding wizard. If the app has pre-filled something different, change it to match.
-
Tick the terms and conditions and press Save
The charger shows as connected in your dashboard.
This is common with Wallbox, and it's almost always one of two things: a flaky internet connection on the charger, or a flaky Bluetooth connection between your phone and the unit.
- Confirm the Wi-Fi signal at the charger is genuinely strong, not one bar
- Reboot the charger after any connectivity change (Settings β Advanced Options β Reboot)
- Stand next to the unit while pairing
- Try again. Honestly. Even with everything right, Wallbox sometimes takes a few attempts.
If it still fails after several tries with OCPP enabled, email the serial number to team@guestcharge.co and we'll check whether the charger has reached our server.
