Charge Amps units carry a settings page inside the charger, reached through the charger's own Wi-Fi hotspot. There's one extra step compared to most brands: the charger also wants to be registered in Charge Amps' own portal, my.charge.space, as part of setup.

Before you start, check you have

  • A phone or laptop with Wi-Fi
  • The configuration manual that came with the charger (the network key is printed in it)
  • A Charge Amps account at my.charge.space
  • Your Wi-Fi name and password
  • About 20 minutes

1Add the charger in your GuestCharge dashboard

Log in to your GuestCharge dashboard and run the onboarding wizard with the charger's serial number.

2Join the charger's own Wi-Fi

Power the charger on. On your device, scan for Wi-Fi networks and join the one called HALO_ followed by a string of characters. Enter the network key from the configuration manual when asked.

3Open the settings page

In a browser on the same device, go to 192.168.250.1. At the admin login, enter the pin code, which is the same as the network key you just used.

4Put the charger on your Wi-Fi

In the settings page, go to the Wi-Fi section. Enter your network name and password and click Update.

5Register the charger in your Charge Amps space

Once the charger is online, go to my.charge.space in a browser, log in, and add your charge point to your space if it isn't there already.

6Enter the GuestCharge address

Go back to the settings page at 192.168.250.1, log in again, and open the OCPP settings. Enter:

  • OCPP endpoint: wss://ocpp.guestcharge.co/YOUR-SERIAL-NUMBER, replacing YOUR-SERIAL-NUMBER with the charger's serial

Save the settings and reboot the charger.

How you know it worked

The charger shows as connected in your GuestCharge dashboard after the reboot.

If it won't connect

  • Check the OCPP endpoint for typos
  • Confirm the charger is actually on your Wi-Fi and not still sulking on its own hotspot
  • Make sure the identity registered in our onboarding wizard matches the charger's serial number

Still stuck? Email the serial number to team@guestcharge.co and we'll check from our side.
