Connect an Autel charger to GuestCharge

Set up over Bluetooth with the Autel Config app. You'll need Autel account credentials first.

Autel chargers are set up from your phone with the Autel Config app. One prerequisite that catches people out: the app needs Autel account credentials to log in. If you don't have any, contact Autel support before install day, as they issue them rather than offering open signup.

Before you start, check you have

  • The Autel Config app (App Store / Google Play) and Autel login credentials
  • The charger's QR code, on the right side of the charging box
  • The PIN from the Quick Manual that came with the unit
  • Your Wi-Fi name and password
  • About 20 minutes

1Add the charger in your GuestCharge dashboard

Run the onboarding wizard with the charger's serial number, which is under the QR code on the side of the unit.

2Add the charger in the Autel Config app

Open the app, log in, and tap the + icon in the top right corner. Scan the QR code on the side of the charging box, or enter the serial number in the field. For the PIN, scan the QR code in the Quick Manual or type it in. Tap Verify.

3Open the configuration menu

Tap the charge point's serial number on the main screen. The configuration menu opens.

4Get the charger online

Tap the Wi-Fi Connection tab, select your network, enter the password, and wait for it to connect.

5Point the charger at GuestCharge

Once the charger is online, go to the OCPP Server tab and choose the option to enter a custom server. Enter:

  • Server URL: wss://ocpp.guestcharge.co/ followed by the serial number, like wss://ocpp.guestcharge.co/AE0012345

Tap Connect, confirm, and wait while the charger verifies the settings and reboots.

How you know it worked

After the reboot, the charger shows as connected in your GuestCharge dashboard.

If it won't connect

  • Check the server URL and serial number for typos
  • Confirm the charger is actually online in the Autel app
  • If the app refuses the connection during verification, note any error message it shows and email it to us with the serial number
