Good news if you own a Zappi: the whole setup happens in your myenergi account in a web browser. You don't touch the charger itself at all.

One thing to check before you start: this works on Zappis with built-in Wi-Fi, which are the ones with serial numbers starting with a 2. If you have an older unit connected through a myenergi hub, contact myenergi about your options first.

Before you start, check you have

  • A myenergi account (register at myaccount.myenergi.com if you haven't), with the location setup completed
  • A Zappi with built-in Wi-Fi, already online
  • About 10 minutes

1Add the charger in your GuestCharge dashboard

Log in to your GuestCharge dashboard and run the onboarding wizard with the Zappi's serial number. With that done, our server is expecting your charger.

2Find the OCPP settings in your myenergi account

Log in to your myenergi account. On the left hand side, select Location, then myenergi products. Find the Zappi you want to connect and click OCPP settings.

3Choose your own settings

You'll see a list of charge point management systems. Select Other to define your own, then fill in:

  • Backend URI: wss://ocpp.guestcharge.co

  • ChargeboxID: leave as the default, which is your Zappi's serial number

  • Username: leave as the default too. myenergi's guidance is that this should match the ChargeboxID, and by default it already does.

  • Authorisation Key: leave blank

A note on that wss bit: if your Zappi is in Great Britain and falls under the Smart Charging Regulations, myenergi advises using a secure connection, which is what the extra s in wss gives you. It encrypts the data between your charger and us, and we recommend it for everyone regardless.

4Enable

Accept the terms and conditions and select Enable. That's genuinely it.

How you know it worked

The charger shows as connected in your GuestCharge dashboard.

If it won't connect

  • Check the Backend URI character by character. It must read exactly wss://ocpp.guestcharge.co
  • Confirm the Zappi itself is online in your myenergi account. If myenergi can't see it, neither can we.
  • Check the ChargeboxID in the myenergi settings matches the serial number you entered in our onboarding wizard.

Still stuck? Email the serial number to team@guestcharge.co and we'll check whether the Zappi has reached our server.
