Mennekes configuration happens over a MicroUSB cable plugged into the controller's Config port, which usually means getting inside the unit. Like our CTEK guide, this one's best handed to your electrician, ideally on installation day. The other thing to know: the login details live in the Commissioning data sheet that comes with the charge point. Keep that document, you'll need it for any future changes.

What's needed

  • A computer and a MicroUSB cable
  • The Commissioning data sheet (for the login credentials)
  • About 20 minutes

1Add the charger in your GuestCharge dashboard

Run the onboarding wizard with the charger's ChargePoint ID. You can find it on the unit's label or in the web interface during step 3, where it must not be changed, only copied.

2Connect and open the web interface

Connect the MicroUSB cable between the computer and the controller's Config port, then browse to 192.168.123.123. Log in with the credentials from the Commissioning data sheet.

3Get the charger online

In the left menu, go to Network. For an ethernet connection, set:

  • Show LAN Configuration: Show
  • Mode for ethernet configuration: DHCP server

Save the settings.

4Enter the GuestCharge settings

Go to Backend in the left menu, then the OCPP settings:

  • Connection type: Ethernet
  • ChargePointID: don't edit it. Just check it matches what you entered in our onboarding wizard.
  • OCPP Mode: OCPP-J 1.6
  • WebSockets JSON OCPP URL of the Backend: wss://ocpp.guestcharge.co

Save the settings.

5Reboot

Reboot the charge point so the new configuration takes effect.

How you know it worked

The charger shows as connected in your GuestCharge dashboard after the reboot.

If it won't connect

  • Check the URL and the ChargePointID, and that the wizard entry matches the ID shown in the web interface
  • Confirm the ethernet connection at the charger is live
