Connect a Rolec UltraCharge to GuestCharge

This is the easy one. The Rolec UltraCharge has a screen on the unit, and connecting it to GuestCharge means changing exactly one setting on it. No apps, no laptops, no network fiddling.

Before you start, check you have

• The charger's serial number (on the unit's label)
• Five minutes

1Add the charger in your GuestCharge dashboard

Log in to your GuestCharge dashboard and run the onboarding wizard with the charger's serial number. You'll use the same serial number again in a moment, on the charger's screen.

2Power up

Turn the charger on and let it fully boot.

3Find the OCPP settings on the screen

On the charger's screen, go into settings and find the OCPP section. This is where the charger keeps the address of the server it reports to.

4Change the server address

Change the server domain name to:

wss://ocpp.guestcharge.co/YOUR-SERIAL-NUMBER

Replace YOUR-SERIAL-NUMBER with the charger's actual serial number. Keep a note of it, you'll enter the same value when adding the charger to GuestCharge.

Leave everything else in the OCPP settings alone unless you know exactly what you're changing.

5Reboot

Restart the charger from the screen, or power it off and on.

How you know it worked

The charger shows as connected in your dashboard shortly after the reboot.

If it won't connect

• Check the server address character by character, especially the serial number on the end. It must match the unit's label exactly.
• Confirm the charger has a working internet connection.
