KEBA setup is straightforward once you've found one thing: the configuration label, a small card in a pouch attached to the installation materials. It carries every credential you need, so dig it out before anything else. If the charger was professionally installed, ask your electrician where it ended up.

On the label you'll find: the charger's own Wi-Fi name (a series of numbers), the hotspot password, the web interface username and password, and the hotspot IP address.

Before you start, check you have

  • The configuration label
  • A phone or laptop with Wi-Fi
  • Your own Wi-Fi name and password
  • About 20 minutes

1Add the charger in your GuestCharge dashboard

Log in to your GuestCharge dashboard and run the onboarding wizard with the charger's serial number.

2Join the charger's own Wi-Fi

On your device, find the Wi-Fi network matching the Default SSID on the label and join it with the Default Hotspot password.

3Open the web interface

In a browser, type in the WLAN Hotspot IP address from the label. Log in with the WebUI username and password, also from the label.

4Put the charger on your Wi-Fi

Hover over Configuration and select Network connection. Then:

  • Switch the WLAN/WiFi toggle to ON
  • Press the refresh button next to Available Networks
  • Pick your Wi-Fi from the dropdown and enter its password

5Enter the GuestCharge settings

Hover over Configuration again and select OCPP. Enter:

  • OCPP Communication type: 1.6 JSON
  • Central System Hostname: ocpp.guestcharge.co
  • Central System Port: 443
  • Secure Central System Connection: ON

Check the Charge point Identity field matches what you entered in the onboarding wizard. If the field is empty, enter KEBA followed by the serial number, like KEBA12345678, and update the wizard entry to match.

6Save and check

Save the changes. The status section shows whether the charger has connected to the OCPP server. If the settings don't seem to stick, reboot the charger and check again.

How you know it worked

The status section shows the OCPP server connected, and the charger shows as connected in your GuestCharge dashboard.

If it won't connect

  • Check the firmware version first. KEBA fixed a known backend connection bug in versions 1.16.1 and 1.17.000. If yours is older, update the firmware and try again. This is the single most common KEBA issue.
  • Check the hostname, port and identity for typos
  • Confirm the charger joined your Wi-Fi
