Vestel's EVC04 chargers are everywhere, often wearing another company's badge. They carry a settings website inside the unit: you join the charger's own Wi-Fi signal, open that page, and enter a handful of settings.

Before you start, check you have

  • A phone, tablet or laptop with Wi-Fi
  • The charger's serial number and Chargebox ID, both on the unit's label
  • Your Wi-Fi name and password
  • About 15 minutes

1Add the charger in your GuestCharge dashboard

Log in to your GuestCharge dashboard and run the onboarding wizard with the charger's ID from the label.

2Join the charger's own Wi-Fi

On your device, open the Wi-Fi list. The charger broadcasts its own network, switched on by default:

  • Network name: the charger's serial number
  • Password: the Chargebox ID

Your device may warn there's no internet on this network. That's fine, you're talking to the charger directly.

3Open the settings page

In a browser, go to 192.168.1.1. Log in with username admin and password admin.

4Enter the GuestCharge settings

Go to OCPP settings and switch OCPP connection on. Then fill in:

  • Central system address: wss://ocpp.guestcharge.co
  • Charge Point ID: the same ID you entered in the onboarding wizard

Scroll down to the field called FreeModeRFID and enter the letter F eight times: FFFFFFFF

Press Save.

5Put the charger on your Wi-Fi

Go to Network interfaces and select WLAN. Enter your Wi-Fi's exact name and password, then Save.

How you know it worked

The charger shows as connected in your GuestCharge dashboard.

If it won't connect

  • Check the central system address and Charge Point ID for typos
  • Confirm the charger joined your Wi-Fi successfully. Weak signal at the charger is the usual culprit.
  • If you can no longer see the charger's own hotspot, it may have switched fully to your network, which is normal once configured.
